The Greater Chamber Announces Its Scholarship Winners
MANASSAS, VA— The Prince William County—Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2009-2010 scholarships. This year, the Greater Chamber is awarding thirteen $1,000 scholarships across five categories: Education, for students intending to pursue a career as an educator; Leadership, for students demonstrating leadership qualities; Science/Technology, for students intending to pursue a career in science, technology, engineering or math; Business, for students interested in pursuing a career in business and Career/ Technical, for any student pursuing a technical career that requires a two-year associate degree or technical certification.
The scholarship recipients are all enrolled in an accredited public or private high school in Prince William County, Manassas or Manassas Park, have demonstrated academic achievement, are planning to attend an accredited community college, technical school or four-year college or university and have submitted required essay questions in order to qualify.
In the category of Education, the recipients are:

• Kathryn E. Modugno, Battlefield High School
• Nathaniel E. Hoffa, Manassas Park High School
In the category of Leadership, the recipients are:
• Elizabeth A. Saccoccia, Forest Park High School
• Nicholas A. Allen, Brentsville District High School
• Amanda G. Best, Osbourn High School
In the category of Science/Technology, the recipients are:
• Adishesh K. Narahari, Osbourn High School
• Olivia C. Bouchet, Stonewall Jackson Senior High School
• Michelle C. Martin, Battlefield High School
In the category of Business, the recipients are:
• Alicia L. Sullivan, Brentsville District High School
• Peter D. Mooney, Seton High School
• Gregory J. Gonzalez, Osbourn Park High School
In the category of Career/Technical, the recipients are:
• Shannon M. Lowry, Osbourn High School
Scholarship recipients will be honored at the Greater Chamber’s annual Education Honor Roll Breakfast scheduled for Tuesday, April 27th from 8:00-9:30 a.m. at Heritage Hunt Golf & Country Club located at 6901 Arthur Hills Dr. in Gainesville. The luncheon is sponsored by Prince William Education Association.
The featured speakers will be the superintendents from each of the three local school systems— Dr. Thomas DeBolt of Manassas Park City Schools; Dr. Gail Pope of Manassas City Public Schools and Dr. Steven Walts of Prince William County Public Schools.
